SUPPORT Q&A - How Do I Completely Remove A File From Innovator?

MattAPI - Friday, December 19, 2008 1:22 PM:

I need to delete a file from Innovator (actually two "Files" that have the same filename) whose info has become corrupt. If I go to Administration->Files, highlight the file, and then click "delete", I get the following error:

Referenced item found: Document File
E4973.......

If I look under "Where used", it says it's attached to a Document at rev level A.5. The other instance of the file references the Document at levels A.5, A.6, and A.7. The current rev level of this Document is A.7. I deleted the file reference from the Document but the physical files are still there. How can I get rid of these?

Thanks,
Matt

Hi.

You should delete all references to the file (i suspect you did it). Then again login as admin, go to Administration/Files, highlight the file and delete it. The file should be deleted successfully (i.e. no errors should appear) from database and from vault server.

Hope it helps.
