SUPPORT Q&A - Config ID Error

Can someone explain why on a part that is in PDM that has previously gone through and ECN lifecycle, that when it was revised again the ECN would not promote due to this same part having a "Duplicate Config ID" error?  I removed it from the ECN and it promoted as it should, but then tried to promote the part manually and still got an item type error.

This can happen if a part version was renamed after it was created. That is if I create a part number 123 and it gets versioned a few times then I change the part number to abc, this could happen.   Check the revision history and see if this is the case.
