SUPPORT Q&A - Aras and IIS 5

zpaolo - Thursday, May 7, 2009 9:21 AM:

I could not find this information: is it possible to install Aras on IIS 5 or do I need IIS 6? I'm not an IT expert but I'd like to check Aras, I tryed configuring a webserver on my machine but am having problems with privileges... Also, Aras installed correctly (IIS 5 and SQL express 2005) but the login screen has no text on the buttons and when I click it waits a little and then nothing happens.

Is there a quick guide on how to configure IIS for a multi-user environment? Privileges seem a little involuted to me...

IIS version is mostly tied to your OS version.  Aras does not list IIS 5 as a supported version, because Aras Innovator 9.1.0 does not support Windows Server 2000.

Windows Server 2003 uses IIS6

Wnidows Server 2008 uses IIS7

If you are running Windows XP, you may still use IIS 5 for a developer server of Aras Innovator 9.1.0.

Thank you for the prompt reply. I'll check the privilege management to see if the problem of no text in buttons is still related to that issue...
