SUPPORT Q&A - Performance issues with Innovator & McAfee VSE ScriptScan

lmorton - Wednesday, June 24, 2009 8:53 AM:

We’re in the process of upgrading to Innovator 9.1 SP3 and have found that if we have our virus scan enabled (McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.7) performance is terrible. We’ve narrowed it down to the ScriptScan portion of McAfee in the On-Access Scan Properties. The description of ScriptScan is as follows:  ‘Scan JavaScript and VBScript scripts that are executed by the Windows Scripting Host. WSH is used by Internet Explorer and Outlook. If an unwanted script is detected it is not allowed to execute.’ You can add process exclusions to ScriptScan, but from what we can tell with Innovator we’d have to add iexplore.exe. I’m curious if other Innovator customers are running McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.7 and if they’ve had to disable ScriptScan or have found a different workaround?
