SUPPORT Q&A - Erratic behavior/unable to open identities, forms

Brent - Tuesday, June 30, 2009 9:26 PM:

I am encountering some problems in Innovator and don't know how to track them down.

I have two installs on this machine (local access only), one test , one production.  Neither are populated with any real data yet, both are Version:9.0.1; Build:5430.  Both databases were installed at the same time and both remain in (nearly) the original installed state.  I am also running Mcafee security center.

First, accessing either database has become erratic.  Sometimes it pops right up, other times it takes a while, and other times it just hangs.

Second, when I do get in and things seem to be working well, if I go to identities and query, I will see the lists of all identities.  I then go to open (read or edit) an identity (administrators), and it opens, but no identities are listed (even though I know there are identities in the admin group).  I can't add any identities.  I try to close out that the window hangs and I have to kill the application.

If I go to forms, and go through the same process, I get similar results.  I try to open a specific form and it never loads the page, it just hangs.

I did at one point, go to a document I had previously loaded and was able to open it and open the attached file.

I am sure that this was not a problem when I first installed these databases back in March, as I added one user and identity and did not experience any of the above problems.

Any help in reviving my database would be appreciated.

Best Regards,

Brent

It dawned on me after submitting this that this machine was upgraded to IE8 in the interim.  Sure enough, searching the forum on IE8 indicated that innovator is not yet compatible...

FYI - verified that rolling back to IE7 resolved this issue...
