Hi Muthu,

Not entirely sure that I understand your question but...

I assume you mean how to you add the IOM.dll as a reference to Visual Studio as this will give you access to the Aras.IOM objects.

You add this dll the same way as any other dll, through the references | add option. Then select Browse, find the IOM.dll file and add it.

This should be all you need to do to get access to the object model.

Hope this is what you were looking for.

Cheers,

Brian.

Hi Brian,

I know this thread is two years old but I've been struggling with how to properly setup a java/jni/c++/c# stack on top of IOM.DLL.

I can build, deploy, and use the stack (i make calls into the java end via JBoss ESB to pull files out of the vault etc.)  But I am doing something wrong with my deploy because when I deploy the stack on an Aras box (where Aras was installed and where Aras Admin occurs), I somehow clobber the Aras Admin GUI.  I get the following error:

Method not found: 'Boolean Aras.IOME.ItemCache.SetItem (System.Collections.ArrayList, System.Xml.XMLElement)'

HI Ian,

I have no specific experience with Java/jni so might not be the best person to ask.

YOu can make SOAP calls direct to Aras from Java. This may be easier?

Or write a web service to do the ARas connect/retrieve work and then talk to the Webservice from Java?

Sorry I can be more help.

Brian.
