Is there an easy way to have the system send an email out when any user creates a new part or document. I need to know when ever a new item is created
I figure I could simply add a javascript method to the form wich is triggered when closed (OnUnload). I need to know how to call and send the pre-defined email message and in the subject get the part number of the new item saved.

Ok I figured it out, I created a new workflow, all automated, added the notification email and for itemtype Part, assigned the new workflow.
Used simple code tin the subject field of email message [New Item : ${Item[@type="Part"]/item_number}]
Works great
