SUPPORT Q&A - TOC/Main Tree Missing Labels ??

Phil - Wednesday, July 7, 2010 12:33 PM:

This is quite strange to me.  I have 1 user who has absolutely no labels next to the TOC entries.  Look at the attached screenshot.

Running ARAS 9.1, Firefox with IETab plugin (because user has IE8) and Windows 7.  I have several other users who have the EXACT same configuration and are not experiencing this phenomenon.  It's maddening.....there must be some setting I am missing somewhere.

I still don't have this solved yet.  I'm thinking it has something to do with the ActiveX cab file that you are asked to install when logging into Innovator the first time on the computer.  I have a feeling that didn't get installed correctly.

Any ideas on how to "uninstall " that, so that I can reinstall it again?

Phil.

The error is most likley due to the Theme display settings for the operating system.  If you set the Theme to standard default settings and relogin the issue should be resolved.

I'm assuming you meant the Windows 7 theme? I tried putting the theme back , but the missing labels still remained.

This is still baffeling me.....I created a separate user on the machine and everything looks fine when I login to Windows under that user.  So it is definitely something related to this user account, but I don't know of a good way to "reset" the user's settings.

Ok, so the previous post pretty much had it right.  It turns out it was the Display setting under the theme. It was set to "Medium", or 125% zoom. You have to have the zoom set to "Small" or 100% zoom (default) in order for the fonts on the TOC to render correctly.

Hopefully this will help someone else out that may be experiencing similar issues.
