Hi.
I want to create a new Workflow process. So what I do is to add my workflow map in a new item type in the tab "Workflows" ,tick off "default" and save.
Shouldn´t this workflow map be listed under my workflow processes? Where is my mistake?
RobMcAveney - Saturday, July 24, 2010 11:40 AM:
The default flag means that the Workflow Map will be instantiated to a Workflow Process any time a new item of that type is created. So if you attach the Workflow Map to an ItemType named MyType as a default, then create 3 new MyType items, you should get 3 Workflow Processes.

Fine, it works. Thank you!

Another short question: How do I get a workflow process started?
I added the existing ECR process to an Item types and it is now listed under Worflow processes. But how do I start the process? Why is Change Specialist I not listed as my process owner as it is in the workflow map?
Aldihu - Sunday, July 25, 2010 11:25 AM:
O.k.
Problem with the Change Specialist is solved.
But how do I get the workflow started? Every acitivity has an assignee, every path is decribed and my workflow is listed under workflow processes. But why do I not get a message into my inbasket? Which step did I forget?
RobMcAveney - Sunday, July 25, 2010 11:37 AM:
Open up the Workflow Process. The "Current Status" field should show "Active" and there should be an activity highlighted in yellow in the graphical display. Click on that activity and you should see its Assignments in the lower right corner. Make sure the user you're using is a member of the Identity shown (if you have to add your alias Identity as a Member, you may need to restart the client). If all that is correct, the activity should appear in your inbasket.

The current status is pending, but how can I activate it? Any ideas?
RobMcAveney - Sunday, July 25, 2010 1:30 PM:
The current status of the Workflow Process is Pending? Not the activity? I've never seen that behavior before. There must be something amiss with the Workflow Map. Try attaching one of the existing Workflow Maps (e.g. PR) and see if it starts automatically.

I´ve tried to start a workflow with the existing ECR process and it didn´t work.
I will describe you what I did, maybe you can see my mistake.
I create an Item Type "Test ECR" and add the ECR process in the tab "Workflows". I save and go to "Workflow Processes" and create a new Workflow process with the name "Test ECR" and now the status of the workflow is "pending"! Any explanations for this? Did I forget anything when I created the Item type?
RobMcAveney - Sunday, July 25, 2010 8:49 PM:
Now I see the problem. Don't create a new Workflow Process item. Create a new item of type "Test ECR" and the Workflow Process will be created automatically.
Aldihu - Monday, July 26, 2010 4:14 PM:
I´m sorry, but it doesn´t work.
I have my item type "Test ECR" with the ECR process attached. When I´m in the Item Type view of "Test ECR" and create a new item with the name "Test ECR_1" nothing happens (with and without ECR attached).
What am I doing wrong? Any additional parameters I have to fill out (Permissions, Can Add, Properties)?

Isn´t there anybody who can explain me how to start a workflow?
