I am trying to install Aras for the first time and cannot get past this error. I have downloaded the latest versions of IIS 2008, MS SQL Server 2008 R2, IE 8, and am running on XP SP3. Also on .NET 3.5. I have managed to get through the entire install process without errors. I have read that there is an issue with Windows Authenitcation, but cannot find out how to get that for XP. Have unstalled and uninstalled several times, each time deleting the database that was installed with the process. Dont know what else to do.

Hi hkight;
Couple of quick things, you either have an IIS or a .Net issue. Hard to tell which one; but i would start be ensuring that IIS is installed on the server.
You can also reference this previous post www.aras.comhttp:/.../194.aspx which is similar in nature to your error.
Best,
Jen

Hi Jen,
I uninstalled and reinstalled the IIS Server 5.1 from the XP operating disk. I uninstalled Aras and tried to reinstall and now it is stopping me and telling me that I have to have IIS 4 or higher to continue to configure the server. Before it would configure the server, now it wont. Do I actually need IIS 6 or greater as per the installation manual? I dont understand why it would build the server before and not now. Why would it tell me that I need IIS 4 or higher, when I have ver 5.1?
