Open Custom Form in A New Tab

Update : I wasnt able to Open a custom form , instead I am going for a custom HTML file 

var newItem = aras.IomInnovator.newItem("", "");
var newItemId = aras.generateNewGUID();
newItem.setID(newItemId);

aras.uiOpenEmptyWindowEx(newItem.node);
var newWindowName = aras.mainWindowName + "_" + newItemId;

var newWindow = aras.windowsByName[newWindowName];
newWindow.frameElement.src = "./test.html";

However the tab that opens up has no tile set it (Refer Screen shot)

Anyone aware on how I can set the Title of the tab while using aras.uiOpenEmptyWindowEx(node)?

good use case! Never have tried it by myself.

This one reminds me to the helper window we get for Reports! 

Have you seen Method 'OnShowItemDefault'. It´s for example used in Method 'OnShowReportEditor". Not sure if this was the code used for the helper window, but it uses 'uiOpenEmptyWindowEx'

Some additional remark. Out of own interest I made a quick check of the code. My Methods above are more used for the Izenda Reporter.

But take a look at codetree file ...\Client\javascript\aras_object.js

There you can find Aras.prototype.targetReport. This one triggers yet another useful function:

--> var openReportInTab = function (mode, report_location, url)

Sounds promising!!!

Here´s something regarding the naming of the tab! You can even assign an image!

tabsObj.updateTitleTab(winName, {
  label: self.getItemProperty(report, 'name'),
  image: '../images/TabDefault.svg'
});

In my case I am invoking the html form from a CUI action and using

           this.arasTabsobj.updateTitleTab(newWindowName, {
              label: "Validation Report",
              image: '../images/TabDefault.svg'
           });

I am able to set the Tab name. and the Image is a good bonus

Happy to hear that you where able to get it working! Without image the solution would have been lame 

I love to see this kind of questions. I never thought of using tabs this way. It´s a nice and useful alternative for popup-dialogs.
