Create Reports at your own risk

オフライン
ARAS has the ability to create formatted reports for your items, if you have the patience to craft the html manually and plug it in. Be warned, ARAS helpfully checks the code and will remove erroneous lines, and everything following it, automatically upon saving to protect you from yourself. Spent a whole day handcrafting the html and xsl (1.0 no less) and produced a fully functional,  formatted report. Changed one little thing, hit save, and poof, ARAS everything deleted but a few fields in the header section. Thank you so much ARAS. It is such a pleasure to work with this remarkable, advanced platform.
  • Oh that sounds frustrating! I have once faced a similar issue with the XSLT reports, but it was more a browser related problem (I used Chrome at a time were Chrome was not officially supported). The data luckily still was available in the db, but wasn´t displayed correctly in the Form. If it's a real bug, it's better to report it to the Aras support so it's fixed to prevent other users from facing the same issue. Maybe there are some log files or cache data available, that help to retrieve the data. I've discovered various "that's kind of weird" stuff in quite every software I have used so far. Even Minesweeper has bugs. Somebody always have to be the first person to report stuff. Most of my reported Aras issues were fixed quite soon and I never ran in the situaton that our PLM implementation journey got stuck because of some unresolved bug.
