How do I create a new Document classification?

Classifications are managed from the document ItemType. If you open and edit the document ItemType, the form contains a button called "class structure", you are then able to add classes/subclasses as you wish.

I have part item type and it has two different classifications one is custom parts and the other is a standard part. Both custom parts and standard part has a different form. So when I select custom parts, form related to custom parts should appear and when select standard parts, forms related to standard part should appear. How can I do that?

The form looks like this with no option to select the custom parts and standard parts.

What you're looking at currently is a search on the part list ItemType. To actually view your new form you'll have to instantiate a new Part List. You can do that by pressing the New Item Button which you can find in this screenshot.

Thank you, I needed to right-click the part list and select the new part list to get the option of custom and standard parts.

When you created the "color" property on your ItemType, did you set the "data source" column to the list you've created?

yes for customized and standard form I have created.

The problem is that if I am opening the standard form individually it is working fine. But when I am opening through classification there is this problem occurring.

Can you specify what you mean when you say "opening through classification"?

The procedure should be to create a new item. The default from should appear for that item. You would then select the appropriate classification, in this case, "finished". Once you've done that, you should have the form you customized for that specific classification. 

Yes, I have created an item type named finished product. In the finished product, I have created a form with a classification property in it.

I don't think you're following the correct path for this use case. All of your classifications should fall under a single ItemType. I'm going to write up a quick set of steps using an example "product" ItemType.

1. Create Product ItemType

2. Create two new classifications for the Product ItemType "Custom" and "Finished".

3. In the "views" tab, add 2 NEW forms, and set the "class path column" to the corresponding classifications. 

4. Modify the default form of your new Product ItemType, ensure that it has at least a classification field.

5. Create the forms for your classifications, with any class specific properties and the classification field.

6. Create a new "Product" Item through the Table of Contents > Add New Product

7. Once the form loads, change the classification field to one of your classifications.

8. The form should swap, showing the one you defined for your new classification.

Just to clarify, it's all under one ItemType. You mentioned creating a "finished product" ItemType, but that is unnecessary. You can just make "finished" a classification on product.

  But once I select the option from the dropdown list, and save its options are not getting selected. For example, the photo I have provided of "shape" as two features from the dropdown, but after I select and save it, and try to see, it shows that it has not selected anything.

What could be the possible reason?

I have created a list under administrator containing shape required

 But once I select the option from the dropdown list, and save its options are not getting selected. For example, the photo I have provided of "shape" as two features from the dropdown, but after I select and save it, and try to see, it shows that it has not selected anything. Even If I enter the value of width also the value is not getting saved as well, I can type the value of 'width' and after doing done it is not getting saved. The same goes for the drop-down option also I can select the value from the drop-down list and after selecting it doing Done, it is not getting saved.  

What could be the possible reason?
