Dialogs and forms not displaying

I use Chrome to access two totally separate Aras 11.0 installations, one SP7 and the other SP5, and am an Aras novice.
  1. I use a laptop and a desktop PC to access Aras. However, if I select any form under Administration it will display correctly on the desktop but will be blank on the laptop for both installations.
  2. Selecting an image:   the local file browser dialog does not open when the "Open File" icon is clicked on the "External File" tab of the image browser in the SP5 installation. This does work in the SP7 installation though.
  3. Creating a Foreign Data Type: after selecting a Foreign data type, the "Foreign Property Selection Tree" dialog doesn't pop-up when the data source field is clicked in the SP5 installation. This does work in the SP7 installation though.
Any help resolving these issues would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Hi Eli Many thanks, I should have thought of something like that! It is more convenient for me to use IE rather than a 2 year old version of Firefox. I have followed the instructions in the document "Aras Innovator 11.0 Client Settings for Internet Explorer on Windows" and was getting this message when trying to connect: "The security settings of your web browser are preventing .NET controls from loading." However, I downloaded and ran sdns.exe but now get this message: "Full operation of Aras Innovator is not supported.  Hosting of .NET controls inside Internet Explorer is disabled. Please see your administrator to review your settings, or click Continue to proceed with reduced functionality." Apparently I have to edit a registry entry to solve this, but as far as I understand it this causes a serious security issue.  Would you recommend doing this? What functionality would I lose if I don't? I am not accessing Aras from inside a corporate network. Thanks. Steve
