The IOM dll exists in the install folder, so you have access to it. I'd have to check for the COM, but I don't even use it anymore for Excel integration. For all my excel integrations I actually develop .net apps integrated as new ribbons button. In this case you just need the simple dll which you get for free in your installation folder.

I have a customer request for an Excel integration. Could you elaborate a bit more how you do your integrations? Maybe share a project template to base on?
Do you have experience with Excel addons in the Office 365 area?
