Airbus evaluated several different PLM platforms but chose Aras based on:

- Significant coverage of expected scope
- Upgrade services for customization included with subscription
- Easy integration
- Long term viability

Microsoft on the other hand is great example of how Aras is used in a very different way, where the solution is the foundation of the development activities. Microsoft says the benefits include:
- Adoption of global parts to drive re-use
- Simplified user experience capabilities when accessing the system and product data
- Fewer resource requirements in IT and the business
- An agile platform
